Is whitewater kayaking on a river something for me?

On the river, you can choose between the "kayak rigido" (hard kayak) or the "kayak hinchable" (inflatable kayak). The hard kayak is only suitable for experienced kayakers (see course below) because of the technical skill required to control this kayak. The inflatable, on the other hand, is a lot more stable and therefore accessible to all, if accompanied by a guide.

Adventure kayaking on the Ésera River

Trips with an inflatable kayak take one and a half to three hours, depending on the chosen course and current. Despite the added stability of this kayak, the chances of flipping over once are considerable. This makes the experience challenging and more physically intense than rafting, for example, where teamwork is key.

Kayaking requires concentration, strength and a good dose of perseverance. Moreover, the sometimes raging currents and exciting passages provide an adrenaline rush and a unique way to experience the river and its surroundings. It is an activity that offers both adventure and a challenge, regardless of your experience.

Quiet kayaking on the lake

You can do that. Lake Barasona, the reservoir of the village of Graus, is an excellent place for kayaking. On the calm waters you can take beautiful trips along the shores, enjoying the serene environment and the view of the surrounding mountains. The area is ideal for families, because even with young children, kayaking here is safe and relaxing.

In addition, you can relax on one of the beaches, where you can take a break from paddling. Bring a picnic, enjoy the sun or take a refreshing dip in the waters of the lake.

Multi-day whitewater kayaking course

The kayak on flat water though seen and feel like the more serious work? Then a multi-day whitewater kayaking course is for you. During this course you will learn to descend with a kayak rigido, a type of kayak known for its maneuverability, but also for its instability. This makes it an exciting challenge, because in fast-flowing water there is a good chance that you will tip over.

Under the guidance of experienced instructors, you will discover how to choose the ideal line in the wild water, practice techniques such as wet exit and eskimoting, and receive extensive safety instruction. You will learn to deal with strong currents and unexpected obstacles, not only improving your skills, but also growing your confidence in challenging conditions.
