Llanos de Hospital - Refugio Renclusa
Today, you'll meet with your mountain guide in Benasque for a final check of all necessary equipment. Following this, you'll head to 'Llanos del Hospital' (a 20-minute drive from Benasque), marking the beginning of your multi-day adventure. On the first day, you'll make a short climb to the mountain hut Renclusa at an altitude of 2,138m. A three course menu is included.
Refugio Renclusa - Puerto de la Picada - Refugi Artiga de Lin
Following breakfast at the mountain hut, you'll embark on a short descent to Besurta. Once there, you'll affix the skins back onto your skis, initiating a gentle ascent of approximately 600 meters to the 'Puerto de Picada,' translating to 'the gate.' This point offers breathtaking views of both the Aragón and Catalonia valleys.
Enjoy the beautiful descent (of almost 1000m!) to the refuge Artiga de Lin at 1,470m.
Refugi Artiga de Lin - Tuc de Mulleres - Refugio Renclusa
Ready for a challenging and spectacular route? After breakfast we'll cross the Forcanada channel towards the col 'Collado de los Araneses' at about 2,442m altitude. On the col you enjoy views of the Maladeta massif and the Escaladeta valley.
From the pass we continue the tour with a demanding climb to the peak 'Mulleres' at 3,010m. Once at the top, two rewards await you: stunning views as from this three-thousander and a nice, long descent to Plan d'Aigualluts.
Once in the valley, we'll make a last short climb back to Refugio Renclusa. In total you've covered about 17 km and almost 1,660m of altimeters today.
Refugio Renclusa - Pico de la Maladeta - Refugio Renclusa
Today, a second 3000m peak awaits you. We kick off with a challenging climb right from the hut. Tracing along the ridge of the Portillons to our left, we ascend in a Z-pattern toward the base of the Rimaya channel. Here, we leave our skis to continue on foot (with crampons).
Upon reaching the ridge, we ascend a few meters to the left, conquering the summit of 'Pico de la Maladeta' at an impressive altitude of 3,308m! Our return follows the same route, treating us to a spectacular descent over the Maladeta glacier.
Refugio Renclusa - Collado de Paderna - LLanos de hospital
Today, you (and your guide) have the flexibility to choose between two options: skiing directly back to the car from the Renclusa hut (approx. 2 hours), or opting for an additional excursion to the 'Paderna' pass (approx. 4 hours).
The second option involves ascending to the mountain lake of Renclusa and the 'Collado de Paderna' at an altitude of 2,570m. Here, we'll stow away the skins, preparing for our final descent through the 'Tubos de Paderna'—a thrilling tube-like terrain.
