The flavours of Huesca

Our province Huesca is not only an outdoor paradise, but also on a culinary and cultural level there is a lot to experience.

The Flavours of Huesca package consists of five nights in two different small-scale accommodations. Four different restaurants have been specially selected for the lunch or dinners that are included. You will be served a surprise menu with a matching wine from the Somontano region.

On two days you will make a cultural excursion to a number of beautiful Roman sites and you'll visit a bodega (wine house). The other two days are reserved for a mountain hike and a guided electric MTB tour.

Program

Welcome

You can check in as from 15:00 p.m. in the boutique guesthouse in Perarrúa. Take a short walk through the village and cross the ancient Romanesque bridge over the Ésera river.

Do you have any more energy? Then walk towards the 1000 year old defensive tower El Mon. A narrow path takes you almost 200 meters higher, where you have nice views over the valley.

In the evening you dine in our own Chill-Outdoor Café, where our cook prepares a surprise dinner for you.

Templars & Bodega

After breakfast you will make an excursion with your own transport along some cultural highlights of the region. You visit the Templar fortress of Monzón, the Opus Dei sanctuary in Torreciudad and the Basilica of Graus.

Lunch will be at one of our favourite restaurants in Barbastro. Barbastro is the capital of the Somontano region, a great wine region. So it shouldn't come as a surprise that this afternoon you will enjoy a wine tasting. 

In the evening you can have dinner somewhere on your own. For a salad or a light meal you are welcome in our Chill-Outdoor Café, but we can also give you tips on nice restaurants in the neighbourhood.

Electric MTB tour & Castejón de Sos

Today you'll continue you journey on another location. After breakfast and the check out, you'll head for a small *** hotel in Castejón de Sos. This village is located 45 minutes from Perarrúa.

After arriving, you'll meet your MTB guide who will take you on an electric MTB tour tailored to your needs and experience. Along the way there is time to eat the picnic lunch at a nice spot.

In the evening there is a delicious three-course dinner awaiting you in a restaurant within walking distance of your hotel.

Roda de Isábena & Obarra

After a good breakfast you go on the second cultural excursion of the week. This time you cross a more northern part of the region. You will pass by the beautiful Romanesque monastery of Obarra and the phenomenally situated village of Roda de Isábena. This village is known for its cathedral, because it's the smallest one of Spain and beautifully located.

You will also visit the Romanesque bridges of Capella and Besians. We don't like to admit it, but both of the bridges are probably even more beautiful than the one in Perarrúa...

In the evening you dine in a great restaurant near Castejón de Sos. The beef they serve comes from their own farm, we definitely recommend you to try it. But don't worry, also the taste buds of the non-meat eaters are well satisfied here. 

Mountain hiking & Benasque

After an early breakfast and taking your picnic, you will head for the high mountains. In the Benasque-valley you will go on a beautiful mountain hike yourself, with route information provided by us. The walk is customised to your level and the predicted weather conditions. If you prefer to go on a tour with a guide, we can book this separately.

In the evening you dine in a restaurant named after the second highest mountain in the Pyrenees. Their architect-designed building has a great kitchen and stunning views. If you only want to make a short walk on this day, you can also opt for having lunch instead of dinner.

Upon receipt of your travel request, we will confirm as soon as possible if there is still space and the rate for your desired trip. Learn more about rates, what's included, fitness levels, minimum age and the reservation process.

Rates
The rate mentioned on this page is per person based on a stay of 5 nights with 2 people in a double room with bathroom, including wine tasting, rental of electric mountain bikes, car route book with local information and walking information. Breakfast is included on all days, 3x packed lunch, lunch in a restaurant and 4x dinner.

When we receive your request, we will send you a price overview of the travel program as soon as possible.

Period
You can undertake the Flavours of Huesca trip in the months of April to June and September & October. The arrival is on Friday or Saturday, you leave again on Wednesday or Thursday. Would you prefer to arrive on a different day? Please let us know and we will look at the options.

The 'flavours of Huesca' package is suitable for anyone who loves good food & drinks and is interested in the history and culture of this region.
We tailor the MTB tour and the mountain hike entirely to your own wishes and level.

Reservations
Reservations can be made via the request form at the bottom of this page.

    1. Indicate your desired travel period and other wishes in the application. After receiving the request, we will confirm as soon as possible whether your desired trip is available.
    2. If the proposed trip meets your wishes, you will receive a booking confirmation with a request for a deposit.
    3. Six weeks before arrival you will receive an information letter about your trip, and we will also send  you the remaining payment request.

Heel fijn om in dit restaurant te eten. In tegenstelling tot veel Spaanse restaurants, heb ik op deze plek, als vegetarisch/ vegan georiënteerde bezoeker ook veel te kiezen. Heerlijk! Een plek waar duurzaamheid, gezelligheid en kwaliteit mooi samen komen. Super aanrader.
