Artificial intelligence (AI) is playing an increasing role in the travel world, including at Chill-Outdoor. We use AI to better structure information, optimise our website and share inspiration. But one thing never changes: our contact with you remains completely personal.
In this article, we explain how we use this technology, but always maintain human contact.
Why we are embracing AI
AI helps us work more efficiently and provide better information. For example, we use it for:
- Writing and structuring blog articles (also this article đ ).
- Improving our findability in search engines and LLMs (Large Language Models), such as Chat GPT and Gemini.
- Making our trips and itineraries more organised.
- Improving our frequently asked questions (FAQ) overview on our website.
That means: less time on online technology and more time for travel experiences and our guests.
What we deliberately do not automate
We like to make smart use of this rapidly changing technology, but we never automate our personal contact. This is what sets us apart as an on-site travel agent, and it is also what we ourselves get most excited about.
At Chill-Outdoor:
- No chatbots on email, Whatsapp or phone.
- You will always receive a human response within 24 hours and preferably the same day.
- In your own language: Dutch, English or Spanish.
- From someone who lives here, works here and knows the central Spanish Pyrenees inside out.
Whether you’re booking a hut tour, planning a family vacation or putting together a custom trip, you’ll always speak with someone who provides input based on experience and honest advice.

Also on site: real people, not a help desk
Even once you are in the Pyrenees, that personal touch remains central.
You will have a contact person you can app or call with questions before, during and after your trip. In addition, you are welcome in PerarrĂșa; the place from where we organise our trips and like to meet our guests in person.
So youâre not passed along to an anonymous online help desk, but connected with real faces and short lines.
Why do we think that personal contact is important?
There are several reasons for this, and one is that trips in the mountains are never standard. They depend on:
- Weather conditions
- Snowfall and snowfields on the routes, or dry terrain.
- The sports level and desires of participants
- Availability and combinations of local accommodations, mountain huts and outdoor partners
- Mountain safety and local knowledge
In our view, this requires human assessment by people who know the area – both ourselves within the travel agency and the mountain guides and local outdoor partners with whom we work. After all, safety, experience and personalisation are more than just data that can be calculated remotely.

So. Technology as a tool, but people as the foundation.
That’s why at Chill-Outdoor we combine:

- Personal guidance at the forefront.
