Magic of Huesca: Spanish Pyrenees

Discover the magic of Huesca during your holidays

‘Huesca la Magia’ or ‘the magic of Huesca’ is the slogan of the area in which we organise our trips. And it is not for nothing, because in Huesca – one of the three provinces of Aragón in Spain – you will be amazed by its immense nature, cultural-historical heritage and tasty local gastronomy.

Magic of Huesca: Spanish Pyrenees

Leading Adventure Tourism Destination

Huesca may be a still relatively unknown destination, but definitely one you’ll want to discover (perhaps for the same reason)! In 2023, the region was voted the best adventure destination in Europe, was nominated again in 2024, and was once more awarded this title in 2025 during the “World Travel Awards”.

Activities in every season

One of the reasons Huesca is such a beloved destination is that the mountain landscape transforms every season. Each visit offers a fresh experience and there’s always something new to discover for everyone. We list a few of our favourite adventures for you:

1. Autumn

The extensive network of trails and roads in the Pyrenees offers endless opportunities for hiking, running, cycling, mountain biking or motorcycling.
And autumn certainly has something magical in the Pyrenees. You’ll enjoy mild late-summer temperatures, beautiful sunsets, the peace that returns to every valley and an explosion of colors and hues in the mountain landscape.
If you’re a bouldering or climbing enthusiast, this is the perfect season for a visit! The sun warms the rocks, and whereas in summer it causes sweaty hands, in autumn it creates comfortable conditions.

  • How about a friends trip or a trip with the company? Autumn and spring are ideal periods for these group trips

2. Winter

You might not immediately think of a winter sports holiday in Spain… Yet here in the mountains you can experience all sorts of winter adventures. For example, a challenging mountaineering activity under the guidance of a high mountain guide, such as ice climbing or ski touring. Or enjoy the winter landscape while skiing or snowshoe hiking.
Huesca has several ski resorts, where you can often ski with a clear blue sky on relatively quiet slopes. And beyond the resorts, you’ll find mountain areas blanketed in fresh snow, waiting to be explored!

3. Spring

Full rivers, birds returning and marmots waking up, and the sun is already shining its light as everything bursts into bloom. What’s not to love about spring?
During this period it is often still quiet in many areas, which makes traveling through the Pyrenees very pleasant. And during this period you can actually do many of the activities already mentioned. Still, paragliding in this period is worth mentioning, as you fly over beautiful green fields, and you can also admire the snow on the high peaks. Also, canyoning, rock climbing and via ferrata are popular activities in this period, and the first multi-day treks start.

4. Summer

With the warm weather, so too in the Spanish Pyrenees, water activities are the perfect plan for many friends and families.
For example, you can raft and kayak on the wild rivers or, on the contrary, on rippling water in one of the many lakes in this mountain range.

Or how about canyoning?
An adventurous sport, where you descend with wetsuits through beautiful gorges.

Also, summer often offers the best conditions for multi-day treks.
Most of the snow is gone then and the weather is more stable, allowing you to safely hike through the mountains at high altitudes and sleep in various mountain huts.
