Five Michelin-starred restaurants in the Spanish Pyrenees

Pyrenean adventure meets culinary refinement: 5 Michelin-starred restaurants close to Chill-Outdoor

Who says that for a top gastronomic experience you have to go to Barcelona, Madrid or San SebastiĂĄn?

Amid the rugged mountains, rivers, and valleys of the Aragonese Pyrenees lies an unexpected level of culinary refinement. At the time of writing, the province of Huesca—home to just over 200,000 inhabitants—counts eight Michelin-starred restaurants, five of which are within an hour’s drive of PerarrĂșa, the base of Chill-Outdoor.

5 Michelin restaurants in the heart of the Pyrenees

This is unique in Spain: a remote natural region with a small population, yet home to five culinary gems—each with its own distinct character. We line them up below:

Court Michelin restaurant Ansils, Valle de Benasque

1. Ansils (Anciles) – Michelin star since 2024

Ansils is a small, intimate gastronomic temple in the mountain village of Anciles, run by brother and sister.

The cuisine is built around local produce from the Benasque Valley, refined cooking techniques, and expressive, deep flavours. The surprise menu changes with the seasons: from game and mushrooms in autumn to fresh, mountainous flavours in summer. The atmosphere is warm, personal and relaxed – just like the region itself.

Michelin restaurant Casas Arcas, valle de Benasque

2. Casa Arcas (Villanova) – Michelin star since 2024

Casa Arcas is an elegant blend of a small-scale hotel and an haute cuisine restaurant.

The chef and his team craft dishes that are true works of art rather than just meals: elegantly presented, light, sophisticated, and with a modern interpretation of Pyrenean cuisine.
The dining room exudes an air of exclusivity without feeling formal, creating a place where you immediately feel welcome.

Michelin restaurant Callizo Pyrenees, Sobrarbe-Pyrenees

3. Callizo (AĂnsa) – Michelin star since 2020

Callizo is a gastronomic spectacle.

Dinner often begins in the wine cellar or at the aperitif outside on the square. Here everything is about experience and each dish tells a story of the Pyrenees: smoke, aromas, theatrical presentation, but always with top quality local ingredients.
Located in the historic center of AĂnsa, the restaurant combines tradition with state-of-the-art cooking techniques. The “Piedras del Sobrarbe” – edible stones – are famous on Instagram.

Michelin restaurant Tatau, Huesca

4. Tatau (Huesca city) – Michelin star since 2014

Tatau was the first starred restaurant in the province of Huesca: modern, rebellious and refined at the same time.

The concept is unique: an upscale tapas-style bar where you dine while the chefs prepare each dish before your eyes. The cuisine is inventive, globally inspired, and executed with technical precision. The restaurant is celebrated for its lively energy, music, humor, and relaxed atmosphere—yet every dish upholds Michelin-quality standards.

Court Michelin restaurant Casa Rubén, Parque Nacional Ordesa y Monte Perdido

5. Casa RubĂ©n (Hospital-Tella) – Michelin star since 2025

Casa Rubén offers an intimate culinary experience, with just three tables and a maximum of eight guests.

Located at the entrance to Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park, a 20-minute drive from AĂnsa, the restaurant’s exceptional setting forms the foundation of every dish. In this tranquil location, Casa RubĂ©n remains true to a cuisine that focuses on attention to the landscape, the seasons and local produce.

Already recommended by Michelin in previous years, Casa Rubén earned its first Michelin star in 2025!

Perfectly combined with outdoor adventure

It’s incredible, but true! The Pyrenees of AragĂłn were recently named with the best adventure destination in the world, surpassing even renowned areas in New Zealand and Canada. Not only because of the quality of the outdoor activities themselves, but also for their intimate scale and personal character. So what more could you want? Top-level canyoning, rafting, hiking, climbing or mountain biking during the day —and unforgettable culinary experiences by night.

It’s this combination of adventure + gastronomy that makes a Chill-Outdoor vacation so special.
