In the 1960s, many people left the rural world for the city. In the more bitter cases, inhabitants were forced out of their homes. As a result, in AragĂłn alone there are hundreds of abandoned villages. Each town with its own history.
The locations of these abandoned villages are usually beautiful. The old churches and the remains of the big houses will fascinate you. Near PerarrĂșa there are several abandoned villages that you can visit, among others:
- Caballera
- Clamosa
- Castarlenas
- El Mon and Arués
- GrustĂĄn
Some of these villages are being rebuilt, others are slowly disappearing, swallowed up by nature.
