In the Ribagorza region there are differences in altitude of almost 3000 meters. The altitudes, rock formations and temperatures are the ideal conditions and a safe home for flora and fauna.

Between 1,500m and 3,000m of altitude live the Pyrenean gems (sarrios), agilely running over the steep cliffs. Alpine marmots and Brown bears also have their habitat in the higher parts of the mountains.

The mammals that you can find in the pre-Pyrenees, among many others, are foxes, roe, genets, deer and wild boars.

It is not easy to spot the wild boar. More common is, seeing its tracks and marks along hiking trails: they dig the soil for earthworms and roots. Also, they have the habit of rubbing their bodies against the trees, leaving the trunks full of mud and hair.
